Description: Ballroom Marfa stands at the crossroads of sound, vision, and desert light—a beacon for experimental art in the wide-open heart of West Texas. Featured on MusicRoadTrip.com as one of the most inspiring creative outposts in America, this former 1920s dance hall has been reimagined into a contemporary arts hub where music, film, and performance collide. Founded in 2003 by Virginia Lebermann and Fairfax Dorn, Ballroom Marfa champions bold ideas and boundary-pushing work. It’s the kind of place where a sound installation can share space with an avant-garde film or an outdoor sculpture that stretches toward the horizon. The organization helped bring the now-iconic Prada Marfa installation to life, and that same spirit of surreal, site-specific wonder still drives everything they do.
