Description: In 1968, Dave Van Ronk stepped out of the smoky coffeehouses and into full technicolor on the cover of *Dave Van Ronk and the Hudson Dusters*, posing with his band against the intimate brick backdrop of 38 Commerce Street in the West Village. The narrow, slightly crooked street mirrors Van Ronk’s own shift from pure folk-blues bard to a raucous, electric, big-band experimenter standing at the cusp of a changing Greenwich Village scene. You can almost hear the horns and fuzz guitars bouncing off the brownstone facades, as if the whole block has been conscripted into the session. This corner of Commerce Street is one of the stops in the MusicRoadTrip.com App.
