Description: Jack McMahon has been a performing singer-songwriter for all of his adult life. From his teenage years as leader of New Jersey rock band The Nightwatch, and his early work as a demo singer for renowned Brill Building songwriters, Jack’s colorful voice and his penchant for writing smart, tuneful hooks brought him to the attention of Columbia Records and New York nightclubs where he opened for Bruce Springsteen and Steely Dan early in their careers. Jack moved to Portland in the mid 1970s, and immediately established himself as one of the city’s premiere singer-songwriting talents. He has been a mainstay of the Portland music scene, ever since. Equally at home in a variety of genres - from folk to rock, to country and R&B, his unique soulful voice and journeyman guitar chops create his indelible signature sound. James Taylor, Jackson Browne, Steve Earle, and Bob Dylan are big influences, but as an artist, Jack is his own man. With six studio albums to his credit, and a seventh in the works, Jack McMahon is a seasoned performer who delights listeners with his songs and stories. He continues to thrill audiences - just like he has been doing for decades
