Description: Wasatch Theatre Company presents Theatre and Justice Convening August 23rd – 24th, 2025 Regent Street Black Box Eccles Theater Salt Lake City, Utah 84101 On Sale 7/1/2025 at 10am. The first ever Theatre and Justice Convening will bring together scholars and artists from throughout Utah and beyond to discuss and explore ideas of how to merge theatre and justice in these fraught times. Part of the Page-to-Stage Festival, this two day event will feature such artists as Wasatch Theatre Company Ensemble, Dr. Candace Christensen, Dr. Richard Scharine, Liz Whittaker, and the Lords of Misrule Theatre Co plus more featuring readings from banned books, workshops, and lectures on monsters and political theatre. Saturday August 23 – 10am opening; 10:30am keynote address with Dr. Candace Christensen; 1:00pm political theatre presentation with Dr. Richard Scharine; 3:00pm TBD; 5:00pm RJ Walker; 7:30pm The Lord of Misrule Theatre Company Performance. Sunday August 24 – 11:00am Opening; 11:30am Consent Workshop with Liz Whittaker; 1:00pm Theatre monsters and justice with Dr. Jim Martin; 3:00pm TBD; 5:00pm Readings from locally banned books featuring the WTC Ensemble. A ticket is valid for entry at any time during the date for which it was purchased. Run time: Events throughout the day. Recommended for all ages. Children 13 months and under (infants being held) do not require a ticket. All other patrons require a ticket regardless of age.
