Description: Brazilian pianist and composer Jovino Santos Neto teams up with Scott Thompson and drummer David Flores to present his Brazilian music in a piano trio format. The compositions by Jovino, Hermeto Pascoal, and Marcos Valle will serve as points of departure for inspired musical conversations among the three extraordinary players. The music will range from the lyrical to the deep grooves this trio can generate. Jovino’s personal style is a creative blend of energetic harmonies, telepathic improvisation, lyrical melodies and great ensemble playing, always inspired and informed by the colorful richness of Brazilian music. His compositions include samba, choro, baião, xote, forró, marcha and many more styles, rooted in centuries-old musical tradition while pointing to new and adventurous harmonic languages.
