Description: Performance by Greg Reitan Trio Pianist, composer and Steinway Artist Greg Reitan and his trio (Jack Daro, bass, and Dean Koba, drums) present an evening of original compositions and works by notable jazz composers that share thematic connections with artwork in the Norton Simon collections. During the performance, Reitan will explore the relationship between the music performed and works by Helen Frankenthaler, Pablo Picasso, Barbara Hepworth, Constantin Brancusi and others. As the Museum marks its 50th anniversary, this concert honors Norton Simon's belief that great art speaks to universal themes of human expression, whether captured in bronze, paint, or in the case of this performance, jazz.
