Description: It may seem early to be making summer plans, but we are ready to start dancing with excitement because we are bringing the Silver Tones Swing Band and the Silver Belles vocal trio back again as part of our Garden Nights at the museum series. Mark your calendars for Friday, September 12. As usual, we'll start gathering in the Kaylor Rose Garden around 5:00 and music will be from 6 to 8 p.m. People are still talking about the fun they had last year, so don't miss out. The Silver Tones Swing Band is one of the Washington, D.C. area's most popular musical acts. They will be joined by the Silver Belles vocal trio, who recreate the exciting music of the Andrews Sisters from the 1940s era and delight the crowd with their rich three-part harmonies. Solo vocalists Wendy Marie and Gene Bates bring to life the music of Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, Peggy Lee, Dean Martin, Natalie Cole, Joe Williams, and other big band greats. If you've never attended a Garden Night these free community evenings are the perfect way to spend a summer evening. Bring a picnic, blanket, or chair. Museum galleries remain open until 8 p.m. More information and details on the whole summer series will be available soon.
